Enter the world of Ancient Egypt in an interactive workshop that uncovers the beliefs and technologies of this fascinating ancient civilisation.Pupils work in groups to take on active learning challenges that explore different aspects of Ancient Egyptian life, and they’ll have a chance to learn about the processes involved in mummification. In a unique opportunity to investigate real objects from our collection up close, each group takes on the identity of a skilled individual in Ancient Egypt, and then finds the resources they would have needed for their job before reporting back to the rest of the class.
On a visit to the gallery, children can choose to see Takabuti, a real Ancient Egyptian mummy, as well as an amazing selection of objects from Ancient Egypt, and complete their own notes and observational drawings to bring back to the classroom.
